Hydraulic Testing Laboratory

Over 350 pipeline tests on a wide variety of slurries have been performed in the GIW Hydraulic Testing Laboratory over the last 30 years. These tests provide GIW and its customers with critical design information necessary to implement many different types of solids transport systems properly.

Maintenance of Centrifugal Slurry Pumps Course

Maintenance of Centrifugal Slurry Pumps will be held May 11 - 13, 2010, in Grovetown, Ga. The course debuted in 2009, and feedback from attendees was very positive. This practical, hands-on course is designed for maintenance and operations personnel. Demonstrations include wet-end assembly, bearing housing assembly, and V-belt installation and adjustment, and are coupled with classroom instruction to help participants prevent problems before they occur.

Metallurgy Lab

GIW Metallurgical/Materials R&D Lab uses advanced testing equipment and instruments to perform materials development, technical support, application evaluation (e.g. wear and corrosion) and failure analysis tasks.

Mineral Processing Using Centrifugal Pumps Course

Mineral Processing Using Centrifugal Pumps was held Feb. 9 - 13, 2009, at GIW Industries in Grovetown, Ga. This technical training class builds on the concepts from the popular slurry course, Transportation of Solids Using Centrifugal Pumps, and is tailored to meet the needs of the hard rock mining industry. Topics include hydrocyclone performance, functional performance of ball milling, and in-plant coarse particle pipeline transport.
