The slurry pumps in this series feature a proven shaft and bearing assembly with spherical roller bearings and separate thrust bearings, abrasion-resistant white irons, ductile irons and special alloys.
They also have shell hydraulics designed with our predictive wear program to match most any duty requirements.
Impeller hydraulics are computer designed for high suction performance and large solids passage. Other features include certified performance by: simple construction, high efficiency and hydraulic testing in GIW's Hydraulic Testing Laboratory.
These pumps are constructed as horizontal end suction centrifugal pumps to give maximum resistance to solids while simplifying maintenance.
The conventional single wall design transfers stress loads to non-wearing side plates in high pressure applications.
Standard bearing assemblies feature a Built-In Bearing Isolator System. The Built-In Bearing Isolator System, designed by GIW, is a labyrinth seal built into the end cover plus the conventional V-ring flinger. It extends the life of the bearing assembly, because it prevents contaminates from entering through the seal are.
The shaft seal design of slurry pumps is controlled by the presence of solids and the availability of purge water. The basic configuration for this series is the stuffing box.
The Forward-Flush Stuffing Box is standard. Standard lubrication is oil bath. Lube oil filters and coolers are not normally required under 3,000 HP The extra measure of protection against contamination should be considered above 3,000 HP.
Range
- Discharge diameters: 12 - 44 in. / 305 - 1.118 mm
- Flows to 95,000 gpm / 21.600 m3/h
- TDH to 300 ft / 90 m
- Capabilities beyond 12,000 HP
Testing
Our performance curves are based on actual, full-size running tests on clear water in the largest slurry dredge pump test facility in the world. We guarantee our pump performance according to the Hydraulic Institute standards.
Hydrostatic tests can be carried out on all pumps at no additional charge in accordance with GIW ISO 9001 procedure 10.0001.01.00. These are performed at 1-1/2 times the operating pressure or 125 psi, whichever is greater.
